About Project
The Zanzibar Sports Complex Project is a comprehensive development initiative designed to significantly enhance the region’s sports, cultural, and social infrastructure.
One of the three football fields will be a 32,000-seat stadium, which, upon completion, will become the largest stadium in Zanzibar. The stadium will be equipped with a Multi-Purpose Arena system, a unique and advanced technology used in only a limited number of stadiums worldwide. This feature will allow the stadium to host not only football matches but also a wide range of sporting events, concerts, conferences, and other large-scale gatherings, making it a versatile and multifunctional venue.
The complex will also include a military parade ground with a capacity of 10,000 people, which will become the largest ceremonial area in Zanzibar once completed.
In addition, to accommodate athletes, organizers, and visitors while providing modern hospitality services, the complex will feature a 200-room hotel, a 40-bed sports hospital, and a ferry pier.
To enrich the visitor experience and create a vibrant social environment, the complex will incorporate gathering areas and a variety of amenities such as cafés, restaurants, relaxation areas, and meeting spaces.
