About the Project

The Mangapwani Port Access Roads Phase II Project has been designed to strengthen the transportation infrastructure of Zanzibar Island. Within the scope of the project, roads with a total length of 113.8 kilometers are being constructed. Of this total, 91.4 km are planned as single carriageway roads, 7.2 km as dual carriageway roads, and 15.2 km as concrete-paved roads. In addition, the project includes the construction of a 110-meter-long bridge.

All design and construction works of the project are undertaken by Orkun Infrastructure. The works cover a wide range of components, including infrastructure construction, drainage systems, asphalt pavements, sidewalk construction, installation of lighting poles, landscaping, as well as the implementation of intersections and road markings.

This comprehensive road project aims to ensure more efficient operation of the logistics network connected to Zanzibar Port and its surroundings, while providing safe and fast transportation for urban and port connections. All works are carried out in accordance with international quality standards.
