About Project
Within the scope of the project, the Jozani – Charawe – Ukongoroni – Bwejuu Road (23.3 km), Fuoni – Tunguu Road (5.8 km dual carriageway), Bungi Road (0.9 km), Nungwi Airport Road (2.15 km), and Nungwi Intercity Roads (10.8 km) have been upgraded to bituminous standards.
The works included the construction of road pavements, sidewalks, new culverts and side drainage systems, drainage facilities, road markings and signage, as well as general finishing works. Additionally, the relocation and reorganization of water, gas, electricity, and communication lines were carried out as part of the project.
Implemented with a total budget of $31,275,383.00, the project was successfully completed and has made a significant contribution to Zanzibar’s transportation infrastructure.
