The project is located approximately 22 kilometers north of Zanzibar City, in the northwestern part of Zanzibar Island. The project sections have a total road length of 12 kilometers, and five at-grade intersections with roundabouts have been planned to provide access to and serve the port facility.

The new road project includes, as defined in the Drawings and Technical Specifications and where deemed necessary, the construction of road pavements, new culverts, drainage facilities, sidewalks, street lighting, road markings, and signage including street name signs; the construction of roundabouts; the construction of a sculpture on the roundabout reflecting Zanzibar culture; infrastructure lines; landscaping works; and general finishing works within the road project area.
